About the Role

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between lab operations and IT by analyzing, defining, and documenting requirements to facilitate effective technology solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of lab operations, along with excellent analytical and communication skills, to collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and drive technology initiatives aligned with business objectives.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) are a plus.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a Systems/Business Analyst or in a similar role.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with business process modeling, workflows, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of databases, SQL, and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of API integrations, database structures, and automation tools is a plus.
• Understanding of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, CLIA) and security best practices.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Lab workflows
• Revenue Cycle Management
• Bioinformatics
• LIS Reporting
• Online Ordering Platforms
• Order Management

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

• Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
• Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate solution options.
• Document business processes, workflows, and system functionalities.

System Design & Implementation

• Collaborate with developers and IT teams to design and implement solutions that optimize business operations.
• Develop system models, diagrams, and specifications.
• Test new systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure requirements are met.

Project Management & Support

• Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams.
• Assist with project planning, timelines, and deliverables.
• Train end-users on new systems and processes.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze data trends to support business decision-making.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
