Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to understand patient needs and diagnose mental health conditions comprehensively.

• Implement crisis intervention strategies and provide ongoing counseling to support patients during difficult times.

• Collaborate closely with the Department of Correction to optimize patient access to mental health care services and coordinate timely treatment interventions.

• Complete required documentation and statistical reports to track patient outcomes and treatment efficacy.
\n
• Lead group therapy sessions in mental health observation units, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and discussions.
\n
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences to develop and refine treatment plans that address the holistic needs of patients.
\n
• Facilitate clinical supervision with the Clinical Supervisor and other team members to ensure high standards of care.
\n
• May supervise and guide social work interns, providing mentorship and support in their professional development.
\n
• Stay engaged in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to serve incarcerated individuals who are in need of mental health services due to behavioral issues, substance use histories, and severe mental illnesses. You will engage with a population that often faces significant barriers to accessing care. Your expertise will help bridge those barriers, providing tailored assessments and interventions aimed at improving their mental health, wellbeing, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of five years of full-time, paid professional experience in a behavioral health care setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing assessment and treatment services for individuals with a variety of mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

• Previous experience in correctional or inpatient settings is highly desirable.

• A history of leading therapy groups or conducting psychological testing is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
