In this unique position, you'll be working with a diverse population, providing a blend of outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient care. Your aptitude in pediatric speech development, adult neurological disorders, or senior cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation will be cherished and utilized to its fullest here. Description
- Conduct in-depth evaluations of patients ranging from children to the elderly employing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft tailored treatment plans aimed at both immediate needs and long-term communication or swallowing goals.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that focus on areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing function.
- Partner with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals-physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families-to devise comprehensive care approaches.
- Provide informative resources and education to patients and their families to better understand and facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy to ensure a seamless continuity of care.
- Document patient progress accurately and promptly in accordance with regulatory and institutional guidelines.
- Stay abreast of the latest advances in the field through continual professional development and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet licensed by ASHA.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferable: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods applicable across all age groups, particularly in the context of developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities that foster strong relationships with patients, families, and care teams.
- Adaptability in therapy approaches to respect and acknowledge diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
- Exceptional clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Competence with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
