Job Description

This is a fully onsite role based at our Global Central Laboratory in Highland Heights Kentucky . We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Facilities Coordinator I where youll contribute to maintaining and optimizing our this position youll ensure smooth daily operations while supporting our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. Youll manage facility services coordinate with vendors and respond to various facility-related needs creating an effective work environment for our teams.

A day in the Life:
In this role youll handle reception duties manage building access systems coordinate maintenance activities and ensure all facility services run efficiently. Youll be responsible for managing supply inventories processing work orders and coordinating with contractors to maintain our facilities. This role offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions while working with inclusive teams in a professional environment.

• Monday-Friday 8AM - 4:30PM ET

• May require participation in on-call rotation

Keys to Success:

Education

• High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

• Technical positions may require a certificate

Experience

• Previous experience that provides the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job (0-1 year of experience).

In some cases an equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education training and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors

• Ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper records

• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC electrical plumbing) preferred

• Understanding of security systems and access control

• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor

• Willingness to respond to facility-related emergencies

• Ability to work in various environments including office laboratory or clinical settings

• Valid drivers license may be required

• Work is performed in an office and/or a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to
  electrical equipment.

• May occasionally drive to site locations. Potential Occasional travel required.

• Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast simple repeated movements
  of the fingers hands and wrists.

• Frequent crouching stooping bending and twisting of upper body and neck.

• Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects including luggage and laptopcomputer with a maximum lift of 25 lbs. required frequently.

• Lifting / carrying objects of 26-50 lbs. required occasionally

• Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.

• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen toand understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

• May interact with others relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diversegroups.

• Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May requireperiods of intense concentration.

• Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditionswith little predictability as to the occurrence.
