Operations Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Manager to lead our team and oversee daily business functions across our retail locations. Responsibilities Manage daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service to ensure operational efficiency. Lead, train, and develop team members in areas such as employee orientation, sales techniques, merchandising, and customer engagement. Oversee staffing schedules, shift management, and payroll processing to maintain optimal coverage and productivity. Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to build a strong, capable team aligned with company standards. Implement effective inventory management practices, including stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and shrink reduction initiatives. Supervise cash handling procedures, cashiering activities, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to guarantee accuracy and security. Coordinate marketing efforts and merchandising displays to attract customers and boost sales performance. Monitor store budgets, perform bookkeeping tasks, and manage purchasing activities to meet financial goals. Foster a positive work environment through leadership in training & development programs and promoting excellent communication skills among staff. Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store procedures at all times. Requirements Proven management experience within retail environments or similar settings; assistant manager experience is highly valued. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively across multiple functions such as sales management, inventory control, and customer service. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are preferred for diverse customer interactions. Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation, recruiting, interviewing, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling. Knowledge of retail math concepts including pricing strategies, sales tracking, budgeting, and retail sales analysis. Experience with POS systems, wireless sales environments (if applicable), merchandising techniques, and inventory management tools. Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Organizational skills complemented by a strong understanding of marketing strategies and store management principles. Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail math is advantageous but not mandatory.
