Work Environment

This position is onsite, primarily taking place in patients' homes, allowing for a personalized and effective approach to therapy. Working collaboratively alongside two experienced physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant (PTA), you will contribute to a supportive atmosphere that values continuous professional development and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify and document patients' objectives and physical conditions.
• Manage an effective patient caseload, typically treating one patient per hour, to ensure focused and personalized care.
• Utilize advanced rehabilitation techniques to provide cost-effective treatment that significantly enhances patients' mobility and range of motion.
• Develop comprehensive care plans that address individual patient needs, incorporating a variety of treatment modalities and interventions.
• Create customized fitness and wellness programs designed to meet the specific goals of each patient, enhancing their physical function and overall health.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes consistently, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal results.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient services and communications to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
• Encourage a proactive approach to health by promoting lifestyle changes aimed at improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, consulting as needed for comprehensive patient care and optimal therapy outcomes.
• Empower patients through motivation and support throughout their treatment process, ensuring they reach their fullest potential.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. Given the personalized home care setting, your approach will pivot on building strong therapeutic relationships that enhance patient trust and engagement, thereby improving treatment fidelity and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution recognized by the Council on Medical Education.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia, issued by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• Strong foundational knowledge of orthopedic physical therapy practices and principles.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of one year's experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and sports rehabilitation will be advantageous in this role, enhancing your capacity to meet diverse patient needs effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
