Accounting Associate

Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team in Rockville, MD. This role supports the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and assisting with core accounting functions in a collaborative environment. Job duties include but are not limited to: Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and general ledger balances Review and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments, and account balances Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, and supporting schedules Assist with internal and external audit documentation requests Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards Provide general support to the accounting team as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or a related financial role preferred Experience with accounts payable and/or general accounting functions strongly preferred Familiarity with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus) Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software Strong organizational and communication skills Must be fully authorized to work in the United States Additional Information Proposed Salary: The salary range varies based on the scope of work, project location, and level of experience, and may fall between $50,000-$55,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.
