About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel for Regulatory Compliance to join their team. The successful candidate will be a seasoned attorney with a strong background in bank regulatory compliance, supervisory, and enforcement matters. This senior leadership role requires the ability to operate with significant autonomy, serve as a trusted advisor, and engage with key executive stakeholders. The role involves providing clear and concise legal and regulatory advice on a wide range of banking laws and regulations, including those related to consumer protection, financial crime compliance, and supervision. The candidate will also be responsible for guiding the company through regulatory risks in new product development, overseeing regulatory examinations, and managing a team of attorneys and regulatory counsel. Applicants must have a Juris Doctorate degree, be admitted to a US State Bar, and have a minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with at least 8 years in regulatory compliance, supervision, and enforcement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role at a financial institution or fintech company, with a strong knowledge of supervisory oversight by regulatory bodies. Key qualifications include the ability to think creatively, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. The role also requires a self-starter with a commitment to continuous improvement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
