Mammography Technologist - Per Diem

Job Description The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring delivery of quality patient care. The technician performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level without constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, safely and efficiently to obtain optimal test results. The technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. The position ensures supplies are maintained and reports equipment problems to the appropriate staff member. The technologist actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. The technologist supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. Qualifications BLS for Healthcare Providers required Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) required Registered American Registry of Radiology Technologist in Mammography (M) required Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school required 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred. Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment. Incumbents within position will be trained and then expected to demonstrate skill within 30-60 days from date of hire. NJDEP State License must be renewed every two years as an essential work requirement. ARRT expires on incumbents date of birth and must be renewed annually as an essential work requirement. Work Environment Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. The position requires the ability to stand for the majority of the time, sit in front of a CRT monitor for extended periods, and frequently push, pull, and lift patients up to 50 lbs. Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Radiology Manager and takes direction from the Mammography Supervisor.
