We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a small firm in Portland, Oregon. This Contract position is part-time and offers the opportunity to handle a broad mix of accounting and administrative duties in a collaborative office environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, accuracy in financial recordkeeping, and the ability to manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks with consistency and care.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records by recording transactions, processing check entries, and keeping bookkeeping data current.

• Oversee billing activities for clients, ensuring invoices are prepared promptly and tracked through completion.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including payment processing and monitoring outstanding balances.

• Support banking activities by assisting with deposits, account tracking, and related financial documentation.

• Organize and maintain client and tax filing records to ensure information is accessible, complete, and properly stored.

• Provide administrative support through document scanning, file organization, and general office record maintenance.

• Assist with routine bookkeeping operations in QuickBooks and help keep accounting information orderly

• Demonstrated experience performing bookkeeping duties in an office setting that requires strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general billing processes.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence navigating day-to-day accounting entries.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial and client records.
• Experience handling filing, document organization, and administrative support tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a part-time Contract role.
• Clear communication skills and a dependable, organized approach to work.
