Correll Insurance Group has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant at our office in Spartanburg, SC.

Job Summary The Staff Accountant will work directly with the local office, and other office locations, as established by the Supervisor or Manager. He/She will be responsible for the day-to-day general accounting of the office, and other offices as established by the Supervisor or Manager. Provide daily assistance with assigned accounting duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently within established procedures associated with the role

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the accounting team and location managers

Demonstrates strong technical aptitude, with the ability to efficiently learn and utilize accounting systems, financial software, and other business applications

Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

Typically requires 1–3 years of related experience

Four-year degree preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

Maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions

Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports reflecting receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and accounts payable

Adheres to established accounting procedures and organizational policies

Reports directly to a supervisor or manager

Performs direct bill commission statement reconciliations

Deposits checks to the bank, as needed

Completes accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks as assigned

Provides backup support for other accounting positions as necessary
