Fabricator Welder

Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals seeks a and dependable Fabricator Welder to join our steel manufacturing team. In this role, you will fabricate, weld, and assemble structural steel components according to engineering specifications and shop drawings. The ideal candidate has experience working with heavy steel, welding equipment, and fabrication tools while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and workplace safety.

Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel using hand tools, power tools, torches, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
• Perform MIG, TIG, GMAW, and other welding processes on heavy steel components.
• Operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, robotic welding systems, drilling equipment, overhead cranes, and oxy-fuel cutting torches.
• Assemble steel components and structures according to project specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, alignment, and workmanship.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and collaborate with production personnel to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition.
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and GMAW welding processes preferred.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques and equipment.
• Familiarity with plasma cutting equipment, welding machines, grinders, and related fabrication tools.
• Strong math, measurement, and layout skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to climb stairs as needed.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, fumes, and chemicals.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
