Preoperative Nursing Care Coordinator

Provides comprehensive preoperative nursing care to patients scheduled for surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education. Collaborates with surgical teams to prepare patients for surgery and facilitates optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health history and current condition to determine readiness for surgery.
• Educate patients and families about preoperative procedures, expectations, and care plans.
• Prepare and verify necessary documentation and equipment for surgical cases.
• Collaborate with surgical team to coordinate patient care and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Monitor and address patient concerns or questions before surgery.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient interactions accurately and timely.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the practicing state.
• Possess prior experience in preoperative or perioperative nursing preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent assessment and communication skills.
• Be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR from an approved vendor.
• Have additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Exhibit the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
