Certified Surgical Technologist

About the Role Medworks is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical procedures across hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers in the greater Blacksburg/Christiansburg/Roanoke/Lexington region. This is a mobile role that involves traveling between local client sites. The Surgical Technologist supports clinical teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting during procedures to ensure safe and efficient patient care. ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment Ensure proper setup for scheduled surgical procedures Intra-Operative Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique standards Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments efficiently Operate and monitor specialty surgical equipment, including lasers Support surgical teams to promote efficient workflow and patient safety Post-Operative Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking Complete documentation and track equipment usage accurately Required Qualifications Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (NBSTSA or equivalent accredited organization) Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of surgical technologist experience Experience in urology, gynecology, or general surgery Schedule & Travel Monday-Friday schedule based on surgical case volume Occasional early start times and extended days Participation in an on-call rotation as needed Frequent local travel between healthcare facilities Periodic travel outside the immediate area may be required Reliable transportation required Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $63,000 - $75,000 annually Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan Paid time off Mileage reimbursement Ongoing training and development opportunities Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move equipment Ability to work in a surgical/clinical environment About Medworks Medworks provides surgical equipment and procedural support services to healthcare providers, specializing in urology, gynecology, and general surgery.
