Assistant Project Manager | Design-Build Construction Location: Chicago, Loop Salary: $90,000 to $120,000 Project Locations: Chicagoland The Opportunity Flowtec is partnered with a leading $400M Chicago General Contractor seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join its growing design-build team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than administrative responsibility. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, estimators and design professionals while gaining meaningful involvement throughout the entire project lifecycle. The company intentionally exposes its employees to different project types, allowing you to build a well-rounded skillset across healthcare, corporate interiors, multifamily, education, commercial, mixed-use and hospitality construction. Projects range from $5M to more than $75M, providing the opportunity to learn on complex assignments while taking on increasing responsibility as your experience develops. What You'll Do Support projects from preconstruction through final completion Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents on daily project operations Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors Participate in project meetings and help track action items Assist with budgeting, cost reporting, forecasting and procurement Review drawings and specifications for scope and constructability Help prepare subcontractor scopes, bid packages and contract documentation Track schedules, material deliveries and project milestones Support quality control, safety and project closeout activities Develop relationships with clients, consultants and trade partners Take ownership of increasingly complex project responsibilities Gain exposure to design, estimating, preconstruction and field operations What We're Looking For One to four years of construction experience with a General Contractor Experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer is preferred Exposure to ground-up construction or complex renovation projects Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills Desire to learn and progress into a Project Manager position Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar platforms is beneficial Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferred Why Join?
