Accounts Receivable Specialist

Accounts Receivable SpecialistMediaNews Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for credit and collections activities and will assist in billing, cash receipts, and other accounting tasks as needed.The work schedule will be 8:00am - 5:00pm MST, Monday-Friday.Please note: Although this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio.What you will do:Monitor A/R aging and customer accounts to minimize past due accountsPerform customer credit analysis as neededInitiate collection calls, emails, faxes and lettersWork with Circulation and Advertising Managers on escalating collection actionsDistribute A/R aging reports and discuss issues with Circulation and Advertising ManagersUse and maintain A/R collections module in Circulation and Advertising System(s)Perform Customer revenue and A/R trend analysisTake initiative to refine procedures, use tact and diplomacy in servicing the client and communicating with others and demonstrate ethical behaviorWhat you will bring:Ability to analyze and resolve problems with some supervisionAccounting process and controls knowledgeStrong sense of urgency combined with attention to detailDemonstrated ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas as needed as well as 10 key proficiencyInterpersonal skills and team collaboration skills, along with strong customer service skillsDemonstrated knowledge of automated collections/accounts Receivable/accounting systems preferredGED or high school diploma; Associate's degree preferredBenefits and Compensation:The hourly range is $16.00 - $17.75 or required city/county minimum wage.
