Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat an outpatient caseload of adult and geriatric patients, with an expected volume of approximately 11 cases per day
• Perform assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and establish short-term and long-term goals; conduct reassessments and discharge planning as appropriate
• Provide therapeutic interventions including gait training, extremity mobilization, spinal mobilization, and management of conditions such as low back pain, post-operative orthopedic cases, neurological disorders, and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Utilize and instruct patients in assistive devices including standard walkers, rolling walkers, crutches, sliding boards, and shoulder slings
• Deliver patient and family education, including development and instruction of home exercise programs
• Document clinical care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active New Mexico Physical Therapist license required (NM license may be pending at time of submission)
• BLS certification required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience; first-time travelers accepted with acute inpatient experience
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; non-local driver's license required on file

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience treating neurological conditions including post-stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and traumatic brain injury
• Background in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, including COPD and CHF management
• Proficiency in orthopedic and sports medicine conditions such as frozen shoulder, cervicalgia, DDD, sciatica, and post-operative spinal, cervical, and shoulder cases
• Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and skill in pain assessment, sensory response evaluation, skin integrity monitoring, and vital signs
