Responsibilities of the Oracle DBA
EDC Consulting LLC (EDC) is seeking candidates for a full-time Oracle DBA in Alexandria, VA. This will challenge the candidate to expand their skillsets and learn new technologies in a fast-paced and friendly environment. The successful candidate remains up to date on vendor technologies and recommended best practices in a highly available, enterprise environment. The successful candidate for this position will be solid in Oracle and familiar with MySQL and EDB/PostgreSQL



The Oracle DBA will:

• Backup and recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) with Veritas NetBackup.
• Work with data-at-rest, over-the-wire encryption using pkcs12 containers, and transparent data encryption (TDE) for Oracle and MySQL.
• Conduct performance tuning for both transactional and analytical workloads.
• Troubleshoot utilizing database and operating system capabilities.
• Work with shell scripting in PL/SQL.
• Be a subject matter expert with system administrative tasks.
• Possess strong documentation skills and interpersonal skills.
• Participates in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelors Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ more years of experience (including design, installation, configuration, administration, patching, upgrades, tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting) with the Oracle Enterprise Database in a UNIX environment on physical and virtual servers; similar skills are required for MySQL and EDB/PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Oracle 12c, 19c including Multitenant, RAC, DataGuard, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Oracle Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System (ACFS).
• Active Oracle Database Certification
• Active Security + Certification
• Active Security Clearance
