CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Location Minneapolis, MN About the Role Bloom seeks a Construction Inspector with knowledge of highway construction principles to monitor progress and ensure compliance on roadway and highway projects. Responsibilities Monitor progress of construction work on roadway and highway projects. Inspect, verify, and document that the project is constructed in conformance with contract plans and specifications. Keep complete and accurate records and reports. Identify changes to the contract and assist in preparation of change orders. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans. Interact and communicate with team members, contractors, and the general public. Effectively multitask and prioritize construction issues through to completion. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. 1+ years of experience in roadway construction. Working knowledge of computer programs and tools related to construction. Familiarity with Minnesota and/or Wisconsin Department of Transportation policies and procedures for construction. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and CADD (MicroStation preferred). Valid driver’s license is required.
