Position: Academic Heart Failure Cardiology Physician
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $500,000 - $600,000

Our organization, located in Birmingham, is seeking a Heart Failure Physician to become part of our esteemed Division of Cardiovascular Disease, which is consistently recognized among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery. Opportunity Highlights

• Become a member of our organization, consistently ranked among the top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery.
• Oversee all facets of heart failure management, including transplants and ventricular assist devices (VADs), with access to the largest pulmonary hypertension unit in the southeast.
• Participate in teaching and research initiatives while enrolling patients in clinical trials.
• Balance a combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
• Pursue research and faculty roles with flexible arrangements available.
• Engage in a program performing 25-30 heart transplants and over 50 VADs annually, with ongoing growth.
• Manage 20-25 patients in the heart transplant intensive care unit, shared among four physicians in a dedicated 20-bed facility.
• Conduct right and left heart catheterizations and biopsies during a weekly outpatient catheterization lab rotation for transplant patients.
• Gain experience in dual-organ transplants, including heart/lung and heart/kidney procedures.
