Senior Bankruptcy Attorney / Practice Group Leader Position Overview We are seeking an accomplished Senior Bankruptcy Attorney to lead and expand an established Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice. This is a unique leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial attorney with a portable book of business of approximately $1 million or more who is looking for a collaborative platform to continue growing their practice. The successful candidate will oversee the firm's bankruptcy department, provide strategic leadership, mentor attorneys, and continue developing long-term client relationships while handling sophisticated restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy matters. Key Responsibilities Lead and grow the Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice. Manage a sophisticated caseload involving Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and complex insolvency matters. Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, trustees, committees, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy proceedings. Handle adversary proceedings, contested matters, workouts, restructurings, and commercial bankruptcy litigation. Develop and maintain strong client relationships while expanding the firm's bankruptcy practice. Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the professional development of the legal team. Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, commercial litigation, finance, and real estate practices on multidisciplinary matters. Participate in strategic planning, business development initiatives, and firm leadership. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction. 10+ years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience with a strong reputation in the marketplace. Demonstrated success handling sophisticated Chapter 11 restructurings, bankruptcy litigation, workouts, and creditors' rights matters. Portable book of business of approximately $1 million or greater. Strong business development skills with an established network of clients and referral sources. Proven leadership experience managing attorneys, practice groups, or complex legal matters. Excellent courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and client counseling skills. Preferred Experience Experience leading or growing a bankruptcy practice. Strong relationships within the financial services, lending, restructuring, private equity, or commercial business communities. Experience mentoring associates and contributing to firm growth initiatives. Portable client base with opportunities for continued expansion.
