Bankruptcy Attorney

Our client is a global law firm and has been practicing for over 100 years. They seek an associate or partner to join their Bankruptcy Team. (Working hybrid out of their mid-town NYC location). The ideal candidate will handle consumer and/or commercial bankruptcy matters in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, providing strategic counsel and effective representation throughout the bankruptcy process. Key Responsibilities Advise clients on bankruptcy options under Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code Prepare, review, and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, motions, and pleadings Represent clients at Section 341 meetings, confirmation hearings, and other court appearances Appear before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the SDNY and EDNY Analyze financial statements, assets, liabilities, income, and creditor claims Communicate with trustees, creditors, and opposing counsel to resolve contested matters Ensure compliance with federal bankruptcy law, local bankruptcy rules, and New York exemptions Manage caseloads efficiently while meeting all court deadlines Maintain detailed case records and client communications Provide client-focused legal counsel throughout the life of each case Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited top 50 nationally recognized law school Prior experience working at one of the AmLaw 200 firms Active admission to the New York State Bar (required) Admission to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the SDNY and/or EDNY (or eligibility to obtain admission) 2-10 years of bankruptcy law experience preferred Strong knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and New York exemption laws Excellent legal writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills Ability to manage matters independently and work collaboratively The expected pay range for this position is: $275,000-$750,000 plus bonus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
