Business Development Manager

PortCo Talent is a Texas based search firm that has partnered with a Private Equity Backed Fire & Life Safety Services business to identify and place a Sales Representative . The Position: Sales Representative This is a quota-carrying, individual contributor field sales role responsible for driving new business growth across the Miami / South Florida market. This is a hunter role — in front of clients, in the field, every day — closing new commercial accounts for code-mandated inspection, testing, and maintenance(“ITM”) services and system installation/replacement projects across sprinklers, fire alarms, and suppression systems. The focus is on winning new accounts and building relationships with commercial customers across a growing market. The ideal candidate is a proven outside sales professional who enjoys prospecting, opening doors, and closing new business in a service based, code driven, or facilities and trades environment. Key Responsibilities Own and exceed a monthly/annual new-business sales quota for Fire & Life Safety ITM service contracts and system installation/replacement projects across the Miami market Prospect and build a pipeline of new commercial accounts — property managers, facility managers, general contractors, developers, hospitality, healthcare, multifamily, and other code-regulated commercial properties — through cold outreach, referrals, networking, and local relationships Conduct in-person site walks and needs assessments to identify code-compliance gaps and scope inspection, testing, maintenance, and system-replacement opportunities Build and present proposals and pricing, and negotiate contract terms directly with decision-makers to close new business Maintain rigorous CRM discipline — accurate pipeline management, activity tracking, and forecasting for weekly/monthly review with the General Manager Partner closely with operations and technicians to ensure a seamless handoff and onboarding of newly won accounts Develop working knowledge of local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) codes, NFPA standards, and permitting requirements to sell as a trusted advisor, not just a vendor Build a personal network of referral sources — fire marshals, insurance brokers, general contractors, property management companies, and architects/engineers — to create a durable pipeline beyond cold outreach Represent the company at local industry events, trade associations, and networking functions to build brand presence and generate leads Report market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and pricing trends back to leadership to inform go-to-market strategy Ideal Candidate Profile 5+ years of proven, quota-carrying outside/field sales experience with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding new-business targets Experience selling into commercial facilities — fire/life safety, security, HVAC, mechanical, janitorial, landscaping, pest control, or another code-driven or recurring-service B2B environment — strongly preferred A true “hunter” mentality — energized by cold outreach, prospecting, and closing net-new logos rather than managing an existing book of business Established network and relationships within the Miami / South Florida commercial real estate, facilities management, or general contracting community a significant plus Comfortable in the field daily — conducting site walks, building relationships face-to-face, and owning a local territory Strong business acumen; able to build and deliver a compelling proposal and negotiate commercial terms Highly disciplined with CRM usage, pipeline management, and forecast accuracy Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required — relevant experience and a demonstrated record of sales performance carry significant weight Entrepreneurial, competitive, and coin-operated — motivated by uncapped earning potential and building something from the ground up within a fast-growing, PE-backed platform #J-18808-Ljbffr
