Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager Data Center Staffing We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to grow our data center staffing business across the United States. Our company provides temporary, contract, and permanent workforce solutions for data center construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance. We support data center operators, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and engineering firms by quickly supplying qualified technical professionals. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new client relationships, identifying workforce needs, preparing proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and closing staffing agreements. Position Objective Drive profitable growth of the data center staffing division by acquiring new clients, expanding existing accounts, and increasing gross profit. The Business Development Manager will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and identifying decision-makers to contract execution and workforce deployment. Key Responsibilities Identify and acquire new clients within the data center industry. Develop relationships with data center operators, developers, general contractors, electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, and engineering firms. Identify key decision-makers, including executives and leaders in construction, project management, operations, procurement, and human resources. Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calls, email outreach, networking, virtual meetings, and in-person client visits. Identify clients’ current and future workforce requirements. Research, qualify, and prioritize target accounts and upcoming data center projects. Prepare staffing proposals, presentations, and customized workforce solutions. Negotiate bill rates, markups, payment terms, guarantees, service-level expectations, and projected staffing volumes. Close staffing agreements and coordinate the launch of new client engagements. Build long-term client relationships and expand the size and scope of existing accounts. Identify cross-selling opportunities across different job categories, projects, and geographic markets. Coordinate with recruiting and operations teams to ensure successful workforce delivery. Monitor client satisfaction, workforce performance, and overall service quality. Participate in data center conferences, construction industry events, trade associations, and professional networking activities. Track market trends, new data center developments, expansions, and construction pipelines. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, activity reports, and account development plans. Meet or exceed individual targets for new accounts, revenue, and gross profit. Staffing Categories The Business Development Manager will sell workforce solutions for positions including: Electricians and electrician helpers Fiber-optic and structured cabling technicians Cable installers and cable technicians Mechanical installers and technicians Server and network equipment installation technicians Commissioning technicians Data center operations and maintenance technicians Engineers and project managers Superintendents, foremen, and site managers Warehouse and material-handling personnel General labor and other technical personnel required for data center construction and operations Qualifications Minimum of 3-4 years of B2B sales experience. Experience in staffing, construction, engineering, skilled trades, or technical services. Previous data center industry experience is strongly preferred. Understanding of temporary staffing, contract staffing, direct hire, or workforce solutions. Proven ability to independently generate leads and reach senior decision-makers. Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing B2B contracts. Ability to calculate bill rates, markups, labor costs, and gross profit. Ability to manage multiple client relationships and sales opportunities simultaneously. Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills. Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building abilities. Self-motivated, persistent, organized, and focused on measurable results. Proficiency with CRM platforms, email, calendar, and standard business applications. Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events. Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant sales performance and industry experience may be considered in place of a degree. Professional proficiency in English is required. Preferred Qualifications Existing relationships with data center operators, developers, general contractors, or specialty subcontractors. Experience selling staffing services to construction and engineering companies. Knowledge of major data center markets, including Virginia, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Ohio, and other high-growth U.S. regions. Understanding of OSHA requirements, payroll, workers’ compensation, insurance, and staffing compliance. Experience working with VMS, MSP, preferred-vendor, or enterprise procurement programs.
