Overview

We are currently hiring a Forklift Certified Shop Hand for a well-established industrial facility in Lafayette. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role supporting daily shop operations. Ideal candidates will be dependable, safety-focused, and ready to jump in immediately.

This is a short-term assignment (2-3 weeks) with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

Job Details

Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: 2-3 weeks (potential for extension)

Key Responsibilities

Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling
Operate a forklift to move materials safely and efficiently
Clean, mask, and prepare parts for processing
Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
Support production flow and assist team members as needed
Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
Complete tasks assigned by the Shop Manager with efficiency and accuracy

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial shop environment preferred
Hands-on experience operating a forklift in a fast-paced setting
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized throughout the shift
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly in a production environment
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proven reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic

Requirements

Valid forklift certification
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently
Ability to stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods
Must be able to follow directions and work safely at all times

Pre-Employment Requirements
