Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN with at least 2 years of postpartum experience and current L&D and IV start skills for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• May float to units with similar acuity
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required
• L&D experience and IV start skills required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provides couplet care including postpartum assessment, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and breastfeeding instruction
• Manages postpartum patients with cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Delivers newborn care including cord care, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and phototherapy
• Administers medications including antihypertensives, heparin, Pitocin, and insulin drips
• Works within a Level 1 Nursery setting
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
