Pensions - Functional Expert/BA

Business Analyst

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:

• Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and IT teams to define and document business requirements for pension-related products.
• Conduct gap analysis between existing and proposed business processes to optimize system capabilities.
• Identify regulatory and compliance needs for pension products in US, UK, APAC, and Africa regions.
• Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, and User Stories.

Policy Administration & Claims Management:

• Provide subject matter expertise on policy administration, claims handling, pension workflows, various Pension payout methodologies: Contribution management and Defined Benefits and contributions.
• Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to enhance operational efficiencies.
• Ensure seamless integration between policy administration systems (Guidewire, Duck Creek) and third-party platforms.

System Integration & Agile Delivery:

• Work with development and QA teams to ensure proper implementation of business requirements.
• Support data migration, system configuration, and integration efforts.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups) and act as a bridge between business and technical teams.
• Conduct UAT, system testing, and process validation to ensure smooth deployments.

Stakeholder & Project Management:

• Engage with internal teams and external vendors to align business needs with technology solutions.
• Lead cross-functional discussions to drive process improvements and workflow automation.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and dependencies with leadership teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the pensions domain.
• Strong domain knowledge in US and UK pension products, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Expertise in policy administration, claims handling, pension workflows, various Pension payout methodologies - Contribution management, Defined Benefits and contributions.
• Experience working with Guidewire and Duck Creek platforms.
• Knowledge of system integration, data migration, and API-based interactions.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to document functional and non-functional requirements with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-geography setup (US, UK, APAC, Africa).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with regulatory reporting requirements in the pension industry.
• Previous experience working on pension product launches or digital transformation projects.
• Any relevant certifications in Business Analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or Agile (CSPO, SAFe).
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and compliance in pension administration.
