Job Details:

• Position: Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Technologist in a Level I trauma center
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/03/2026
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years' experience in operating room settings, with a minimum of 0 years required for specific skills or certifications specified in job description
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) preferred
• Special Procedures and Cases: Experience with laparoscopic-assisted cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical), mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple procedure, cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, open and closed fracture reductions, free flap microvascular surgery, organ donation, urology procedures including cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, trauma-related amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, multiple injuries from motor vehicle accidents, emergency response skills including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia, and operating with equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables.
• Additional Requirements: Illinois license in active status or in application process, 1 weekend shift per month, on-call duties approximately once per week, and ability to float within scope of practice if needed. Specific trauma level I experience is required, as well as competency in a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Notes: Open to 13-26 week assignments. Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility. Candidates must be able to review and secure all required compliance documentation, including a background check, licensure, and certifications prior to start.
