Summary

This position is part of the Department of War, Media Activity (WMA). The incumbent will be responsible for providing policy and procedures for DoW audiovisual and visual information activities and operations such as Combat Camera operation, and for newspapers and print media throughout DoD such as the European and Pacific Stars and Stripes newspapers.

Duties

Help

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the GS-0346-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:

• Reviews of all agency contracts to identify accountable and non-accountable property.
• Utilizes access to Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) to properly account for Government Furnished Property.
• Logistical planning includes the identification of specific agency requirements to support new workload programs, e.g. manpower, funds, skills, training, equipment, documentation, and facilities.
• Establishes/monitors program milestones and progress and coordinates elements of logistical planning with designated functional personnel.
• Prepares correspondence relating to inventory discrepancies to support adjustment actions.
• Compares data in different databases to assure consistency and accuracy.
• Analyzes the results of applying guidelines to difficult situations and recommend changes.

• Travel overseas periodically; attend various conferences and symposia. TDY travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:

• Reviewing and analyzing contracts to identify accountable property, monitored logistical milestones, and developed support strategies to ensure the successful execution of agency objectives.
• Managing micro-purchasing and simplified acquisition procedures, including reconciling monthly credit card statements and clearing Unliquidated Obligation Lists (ULOs) for supplies, services, and IT equipment.
• Investigating discrepancies, identified optimal supply sources to maximize savings, and reviewed Financial Liability Investigations of Property Loss (FLIPL) to resolve issues of property loss or damage.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
