Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will partner with division leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the day-to-day financial operations that keep our organization running smoothly. What You’ll Do Monitor daily financial activity for assigned division(s) and resolve discrepancies. Identify errors or misclassifications, correct them, and recommend process improvements. Monitor inventory, investigate issues, correct discrepancies, and recommend improvements. Assist with preparation of financial documents, including variance summaries and final division financials for Division VP review. Serve as the first point of contact for division leadership regarding financial information, guidance, and recommendations. Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions, financial statements, and consolidated reports. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls. Use technology and accounting systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting clarity. Other qualifications include, but are not limited to: Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, and carry as needed. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interpret and explain complex financial information. High professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality with sensitive financial data. Strong mathematical and numerical reasoning skills. Ability to adapt to change and support continuous improvement. Ability to work across all levels of the organization with professionalism and agility. Education & Experience Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience preparing financial schedules and reports. Retail or fuel industry experience preferred. Forecasting and budgeting experience desired. ERP accounting software experience preferred. Intermediate Excel and Word skills required.
