Registered Nurse – Cardiac Step-Down

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (3x12, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Rotating Weekends | Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiac Step-Down unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, interpreting telemetry data and responding to changes in patient condition
• Perform IV insertions and manage IV therapy as part of routine patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Float between like units or campuses as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November) as required

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (no pending licenses accepted at time of start)
• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Step-Down or related nursing experience
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Demonstrated telemetry monitoring skills
• Proficient IV start skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience charting in Epic EMR
• Familiarity with acute care hospital environments
