Japanese Bilingual Accounting Associate

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support bookkeeping, tax preparation, payroll, and client communication functions.
This role requires professional-level Japanese and English language skills in order to effectively support clients through email and phone communication.

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support bookkeeping, tax preparation, payroll, and client communication functions.
This role requires professional-level Japanese and English language skills in order to effectively support clients through email and phone communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping and accounting write-ups
- Prepare tax returns and process payroll
- Troubleshoot banking-related issues
- Provide light translation support as needed
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Follow up with customers to ensure inquiries are resolved within agreed timeframes
- Answer phone calls for assigned accounts and respond to moderately complex client inquiries
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data security standards
- Professional-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (verbal and written)
- (Required to support Japanese-speaking clients via email and telephone)
- Experience with bookkeeping, tax, or payroll processes
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
- CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA credentials
- Experience in an accounting firm or client-service environment
