Backend Python Databricks Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable Python backend software solutions and production code.
- Build, deploy, optimize, and support PySpark-based data pipelines and Databricks data engineering modules.
- Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementations meet design constraints and platform standards.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs through review and testing.
- Analyze large and diverse financial datasets, develop visualizations and reporting, and identify patterns that improve software and system architecture.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate finance requirements into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and production debugging and maintenance.
- Proficiency in Python backend development and production experience building and optimizing PySpark data pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and supporting modules on Databricks.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating and refining their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security expectations, and the software development life cycle.
- Preferred experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, cloud data platforms, AWS, infrastructure-as-code, pipeline orchestration, financial services, data governance, data quality, or metadata management.
