Provide value-added support for product and project teams to manage the product lines value to the end customer.Principle ActivitiesAttend and support all assigned Product and Project Team activities with functional technical inputs and non-functional challenges.Measurement and improvement of the supply base performance through quality techniques and state of the art material management techniques.Assess the competitiveness of assigned commodities and supply base to insure overall value to the company and customers.Maintains the system integrity to insure prompt payments to suppliers, and inventory accuracy.Interfaces with Accounting to insure timely payment of all invoices.Provide strategic direction on supply base management both divisional and on cross-division councils.Uses state of the art techniques to reduce material costs to the stated goal, such as V/A and V/E.Assists Fairfax with component shortages if needed.Maintains competency in commodity areas for new state of the art approaches.Provide input and direction to the overall strategy of the department.Financial/Risk ControlFulfill the financial control and risk management responsibility inherent in the position.Conduct yourself in accordance with the Company code of ethics policy.Required Education/ Certification4 year college degree. Preferably with a mechanical or technical focus.Working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, access, and PowerPoint.Required ExperiencePurchasing experience in ice machine components, metals, electrical, or mechanical components. Team focused. Quality and Problem-solving training.Physical RequirementsSome travel required. 25% or more. 4-5 hotel nights.Some light lifting, bending and squatting may be required.30% of time may be spent keyboarding.Compensation$90,000 - $105,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr Scotsman-Group-LLC
