Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing. Certifications: Advanced Life Support (must obtain within 6 months of hire). Basic Life Support (must obtain within 1 month of hire). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must obtain within 6 months of hire). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must obtain prior to hire). Must-Have: Critical thinking skills. Decisive judgment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Personal protective equipment is utilized as required, following standard precautions. Nursing staff are responsible for ensuring well-coordinated patient care in a fast-paced environment. The emergency department accommodates a high volume of patient care annually. Nursing staff will utilize electronic health records for documentation. Participation in ongoing education and training will be necessary to maintain required certifications.
