Over three generations, the Lawlor-White Family has produced more than 50 unique wines. Join our production team to be part of producing a variety of wines ranging from fruit & dessert to French-American hybrids, as well as Vinifera varietals. Wage: $20/hr/DOE

Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday shifts, 8 hour shifts, some weekends required during harvest season

About the Postion: This position will report directly to the Winemaker and will be involved in all aspects of production for Galena Cellars. Passion for wine, work ethic and a positive attitude are essential for this role. This is an opening for someone interested in honing their skills with a desire for advancement.

You will work in every part of the winery, from cellar to bottle. Responsibilities include but are not limited to processing fruit, monitoring and conducting fermentations with additions and pumpovers, press operation, cleaning and sanitation, barrel work, racking, bottling, and assisting with viticultural work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reports to and obtains duties from the Winemaker
• Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Pulls orders for Downtown and Vineyard locations
• Has the ability to deliver orders to the Downtown and Vineyard locations (valid driver’s license required)
• May have to work in the vineyards, when necessary, or when directed by the Winemaker
• Must learn and be able to operate and run all equipment used for the winemaking process
• Perform timely maintenance on all equipment
• Must be able to drive a forklift, willing to train if candidate has no experience
• Ability to keep track of inventory efficiently and in a timely manner
• Ability to run all laboratory tests required by the Winemaker and keep organized records as dictated by the Winemaker
• Assists with grounds maintenance when needed
• Practices effective sanitation techniques
• Has the ability to work independently, multitask and create jobs for the cellar worker and themselves without having to be told
• Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age requirement of 21 years old
• Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Demonstrated experience with all aspects of winemaking and sensory analysis or willingness to learn all aspects of winemaking
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to work long hours during harvest and overtime as needed
