Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Job Overview Vertex is growing and seeks a Manager, FP&A who will partner with business functions to provide financial direction and strategic insight, build analytics, and support decision making. Key Responsibilities Assist with the financial performance management process (objective setting, budget vs. actuals, etc) for assigned areas, including Monthly Operating Review (MOR) and forecast process, focusing on key drivers of short‑term performance and communicating outcome ranges. Proactively manage the financial planning process (budget, forecast), develop forward‑looking scenarios, identify risks and mitigation plans. Lead process‑improvement projects spanning the Finance organization. Provide financial direction and strategic insight, influencing decisions and identifying global opportunities to invest, save costs, and mitigate risks. Collaborate with Business Partners to ensure coherent financial analysis and alignment across functions. Partner within FP&A and with Global Financial Systems, Accounting, HR, and other functions to ensure clear ownership of deliverables and seamless service delivery. Ensure financial integrity, corporate governance, and compliance for all financial aspects of the assigned areas. Knowledge & Skills Strong analytical and financial skills to evaluate a broad range of financial questions and support complex business decisions. Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Hyperion or other multidimensional databases; experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools is a plus. Strong business acumen and judgment, and knowledge of the company’s markets, products and industry trends. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Continuous‑improvement mindset with flexibility and ability to adapt to change. Understanding of accounting and finance principles. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative/analytical field. Typically requires 6 years of relevant financial experience or equivalent education and experience, with a track record of success in a team‑based environment. Pay Range $116,000 – $174,000 (base). Eligible for annual bonus, equity, and other benefits. Flex Designation Hybrid‑eligible: can work remotely up to two days per week or on‑site five days per week. Flex status subject to Vertex’s Flex policy.
