Operating Room / Full-time

Provides patient care duties perioperatively for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves primarily as a scrub technologist. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse.

Education and Credentials Required:

Surgical Technologist I - Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology or competency demonstrated by experience and training.

Surgical Technologist II - Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, recent experience as a surgical technologist, or two years of clinical surgical technology experience at Catawba Valley Medical Center with no degree.

Surgical Technologist III - Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, previous surgical technologist experience, or five years of clinical surgical technology experience at Catawba Valley Medical Center with no degree.

Surgical Technologist IV - Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology. military experience, or eight years of experience at Catawba Valley Medical center with no degree.

Work Experience:

Surgical Technologist I - Recent experience in Surgical Technologist role or recent graduation from program of Surgical Technology.

Surgical Technologist II - Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.

Surgical Technologist III - Three years of experience as a graduate of a surgical technology program. assistant in multiple specialties. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.

Surgical Technologist IV - Six years of experience as a graduate of a surgical technology program. Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
