Payroll Manager | Hybrid | Washington, D.C. | $100K
Are you a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and making a meaningful impact in a mission-driven environment? Aprio is partnering with an organization in Washington, D.C. to find a Payroll Manager to lead centralized payroll operations across four distinctive institutions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading end-to-end payroll for 500+ regular, temporary, and seasonal employees across multiple institutions and states
- Serving as primary Paylocity system administrator — processing, reporting, and system management
- Preparing payroll tax filings, 941 reconciliations, W-2s, and audit support
- Coordinating garnishments, direct deposits, retirement contributions, and benefit deductions
- Partnering with HR, Finance, and institutional leaders across a shared services model
- Identifying opportunities to modernize processes, strengthen controls, and improve service delivery
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of progressive payroll administration experience
- Multi-state payroll processing — 500+ employees preferred
- Paylocity experience strongly preferred
- Experience with 941 reconciliations, payroll tax filings, and audit support
- Multi-institution or shared services experience a plus
- CPP certification a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, Business, or related field
