Join Our Team as a Foot & Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeon

We are looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Foot & Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeon to become part of our expanding, high-volume orthopedic practice located in Portland, Maine. This is a remarkable chance to join a collaborative, patient-centered team dedicated to addressing the orthopedic needs of southern Maine and beyond.

Our practice fosters a positive, team-oriented environment where physicians collaborate closely with seasoned orthopedic specialists, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support personnel. Due to our ongoing growth and strong community demand, we are enhancing our Foot & Ankle Surgery program and are in search of a surgeon who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care while contributing to the success of our multidisciplinary team.

Position Highlights

• Full-time role (1.0 FTE)
• Established orthopedic practice with a significant volume of referrals and regional demand
• Approximately 60% of time spent in the operating room and 40% in clinic
• Dedicated block time in the operating room and access to a new ambulatory surgery center
• Manageable shared call schedule

Clinical Scope

The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for lower extremity disorders, including:

• Tendon disorders such as Achilles, peroneal, and posterior tibial tendon pathologies
• Foot and ankle arthritis
• Ligament injuries, including ankle sprains and Lisfranc injuries
• Minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair
• Flatfoot and cavovarus reconstruction
• Ankle, calcaneus, and foot fractures
• Plantar fasciitis
• Metatarsalgia
• Bunions
• Neuromas
• Hammertoes
• Foot and ankle arthroscopy
• Post-traumatic lower extremity reconstruction
• Charcot neuroarthropathy

Whenever feasible, our team prioritizes minimally invasive surgical techniques and evidence-based treatment methods to enhance patient outcomes.

Teaching Opportunities

In alignment with our academic environment, this position offers opportunities to:

• Teach and mentor medical students during their clinical rotations

• Engage in educational and academic activities within the department

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Fellowship training in Foot & Ankle Surgery is required
• New graduates and experienced surgeons are welcome to apply
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care
• Strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, and team-oriented approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The annual base salary for this position is $650,000 .
