Medical Laboratory Scientist The Medical Technologist conducts clinical diagnostic testing on inpatients, outpatients, and residents. This includes blood draws and specimen collections for processing. The role performs therapeutic phlebotomy and conducts quality control procedures on patient tests and laboratory equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic testing. Patient data is reported to the medical record and, if results warrant, to medical staff directly. Required Qualifications Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology, or Within 1 year of hire: National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology, or Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists, or Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology, or Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Association of Bioanalysts Preferred Qualifications 2 years work experience in a clinical laboratory. Pay Range: $37.08 - $55.62. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
