Cardiologist

Position Information: This highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will have a passion for Cardiology and working with high‑acuity patients in both the inpatient rounding and outpatient clinics. Under the leadership of our Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure, the Advanced Provider will work primarily at HealthPark Medical Center but may be required to float to other locations based on organizational needs and program growth. The role includes responsibility for managing significant life‑sustaining and critical treatments such as LVAD, mechanical circulation support, and ECMO. Weekend and call coverage (estimated at 1:4 once fully staffed) is required. The Advanced Provider will deliver patient‑focused, comprehensive care across the spectrum of heart failure therapies, aiming to improve quality of life and clinical outcomes. Evaluation and management of systolic and diastolic heart failure, including specific cardiomyopathies (sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) Remote monitoring system for heart failure Cardiogenic shock management with short‑term mechanical circulatory support devices Evaluation and referrals for surgical therapies, including left‑ventricular assist devices and heart transplantation Palliative inotropic support End‑of‑life counseling Qualifications: Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (Acute pathway preferred) or Physician Assistant Active, unrestricted license in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain this license prior to start Current BLS credentials through the American Heart Association Certification from the Heart Failure Society of America in Advanced Heart Failure (HF‑CERT) or ability to achieve certification within 3 years of start date Benefit Highlights: Competitive compensation package with salary, benefits and employee wellness opportunities Generous paid time off, CME days and other vacation benefits Malpractice and tail coverage provided 403(b) retirement plan with match and 457(b) enhanced retirement option Participation in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Fort Myers: Fort Myers offers a beach/vacation lifestyle with warm weather year‑round, beautiful beaches, sunsets, recreational parks, ecological preserves, golf courses, restaurants, shopping, art, history, and festivals.
