Job Description

EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician I (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or water

Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instruments

Able to perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements and the utilization of analytical balances

Perform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained

Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the handling of common laboratory reagents, such as acids, bases, and organic solvents

Perform all chemical handling safely following laboratory procedures

Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical method

Requirements:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED

Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments

Work independently and with a team

Concise, organized, and meticulous regarding work assignments

Knowledge of basic computer skills such Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required

Available Shift:

Position is full time, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
