CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist - Akron, OHA premier, high-tech machine shop in the Akron, Ohio area to hire experienced CNC Operators. We are seeking precision-driven professionals to join our 1st and 3rd shift teams. This role focuses on high-performance machining for the aerospace and automotive industries, utilizing advanced 4-axis and 5-axis equipment.ResponsibilitiesEfficiently operate multiple CNC machines (including Makino A81 and DMG centers) to meet daily productivity and workflow goals.Assist with machine setups, fixture changes, tool offsets, and program adjustments. Prepare castings and install components for machining.Perform detailed quality inspections using precision measuring and gauging equipment to ensure all parts meet or exceed strict tolerances.Perform scheduled PMs (Preventative Maintenance), monitor tool inventory, and conduct basic machine troubleshooting to ensure maximum uptime.Deburr, wash, and pressure test parts as required.Accurately report labor, productivity, and key performance indicators (KPIs) via internal systems.Support the development of Level 1 Operators by identifying training needs and providing on-the-job coaching.RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience in a high-volume production environment.Technical Skill: Proven hands-on experience with 4-axis or 5-axis VMC/HMC machining centers.Industry Knowledge: Previous experience machining High-Performance Automotive or Aircraft engine parts is highly preferred.Tools: Proficient in the use of standard measuring and gauging equipment.Bonus Skills: Experience with Fanuc Pro 3 or Pro 5 controllers is a significant plus.Comprehensive Benefits & PerksHealth & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage + sponsored life and disability insurance.Financial Security: 401(k) with company match and potential profit-sharing opportunities.Work-Life Balance: Paid holidays, sick days, vacation time, and paid parental leave.Growth: Tuition assistance for degrees, leadership workshops, and online training.Extras: Employee referral bonuses, health club reimbursement, and an Employee Assistance Platform (EAP).Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
