Controls Systems Technician

What you will do Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Respond to basic warranty calls. Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service. How you will do it Load system‑level controller software. Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required documentation. Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment. Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation. Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation. Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility runs efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least 2 years of industry experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems. Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts ethically and professionally. Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical Building Automation equipment on a job site. PC experience and the ability to program HVAC‑related software. HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20-$28 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
