About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Tax to take on a pivotal role in leading the corporate tax function and providing strategic tax advice to the company's shareholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies and plans for a complex S-Corporation and related pass-through entities. This includes modeling shareholder-level tax implications of various business and investment decisions, with a focus on real estate transactions such as 1031 exchanges, depreciation strategies, and Opportunity Zone investments. The role also involves overseeing the compliance process, managing tax estimates, distributions, and basis planning, and ensuring clear communication of complex tax matters to senior leadership and ownership. Applicants for the Vice President of Tax position at the company should have 7-10+ years' of progressive tax experience, with a strong preference for those who have worked at a Big 4 or national accounting firm. Deep expertise in S-Corp, pass-through, and real estate taxation is essential, as is experience in overseeing complex tax compliance and managing outside advisors. The ideal candidate will have a CPA qualification, strong executive presence, excellent communication skills, and sound business judgment. The role requires a strategic thinker who can proactively guide the company through tax implications of significant business decisions and various transactions.
