Investment Data Officer – INVESTMENT OFFICER III, STATE TEACHERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM Salary: $10,681.00 – $12,738.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. This position is eligible for incentive compensation, with a maximum incentive opportunity of 20% of base salary. The position is also subject to the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces base pay by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits. Salaries shown do not reflect the reduced amounts. Overview The CalSTRS Investments Branch seeks an experienced Investment Officer III for the Investment Data Solutions team. The role focuses on developing critical data engineering, architecture, and application functions that support portfolio management across total funds. Responsibilities Design, govern, and optimize data resources that support portfolio management. Ensure investment data accuracy, timeliness, governance, and accessibility for decision‑making. Perform complex duties requiring independence, confidentiality, and discretionary judgment. Communicate effectively in oral and written form for investment applications. Qualifications Knowledge of investment principles, types, and markets. Knowledge of best‑practice project‑management principles and methodologies. Knowledge of technological concepts and languages. Knowledge of data‑management concepts, data‑quality automation, and file/stream management. Experience in application development SDLC, testing, and oversight. Experience in quality assurance and quality control. Ability to work cross‑functionally among all CalSTRS asset classes. Ability to work with internal and external clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Excellent interpersonal skills. Professional certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or CAIA is preferred. A CFA may receive a 5% monthly base pay differential.
