POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for individualized implementation of a broad array of early intervention services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to direct early intervention services, service coordination, compliance with standards and reporting requirements, public relations, community collaboration/coordination, child find and quality assurance of individual files in all of the counties NAPPR EI serves including Bernalillo, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Socorro, Valencia and Cibola counties. All Early Intervention direct service personnel are expected to provide services in a relationship-based and family-centered manner that supports the family's daily routines. All NAPPR employees are expected to demonstrate integrity and focus on NAPPR's mission throughout all aspects of their work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Conduct evaluations and assessments with other team members to determine a child's eligibility for services.
- Conduct vision/hearing screenings.
- Facilitate and participate in the development, review and evaluation of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) in various teams in order to ensure that families receive comprehensive, individualized services that are responsive to family and child needs.
- Provides Service Coordination and Developmental Instruction, individualized early intervention services in home/community-based settings to families who have infants/toddlers with or at risk for developmental delays in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
- Develops and maintains relationships with all stakeholders by maintaining frequent appropriate communication focused on responding to and meeting the needs of the family. Demonstrates sensitivity to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual, and rural differences among children and families served.
- Independently prepares and submits all required documentation within program quality requirements for timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and neatness.
- Complies with prescribed service billable time requirements, using professional judgment and knowledge of billing standards to determine billable service categories.
- Builds/maintains partnerships and relationships within the communities and with other service providers and team members in order to generate referrals and ensure that all eligible children/families receive appropriate services.
- Recommends, monitors, and assures delivery of all services, acting as a resource to professionals and families, interpreting implementation of all applicable standards, policies and procedures.
- Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, Developmental Specialist II certification and other trainings/certifications as required.
- Must be comfortable with providing home visiting services in the child's natural environment, to include home, child care and community settings.
- Maintain a caseload of 25-40 families.
- Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, NAPPR policy, state and federal law.
- Keep continued driver's licensure in good standing to assure coverage by NAPPR's auto insurance coverage.
- Drive alone to visits/community events 100+ miles from NAPPR's main office.
- Drive a business provided vehicle whenever possible for work functions.
- Provide services in all 6 counties served by NAPPR Early Intervention.

· Participate in community outreach efforts.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS• A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field including Social Work, Family Studies, Child Development, etc. for certification as a Developmental Specialist
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- Experience with providing culturally appropriate services and experience and/or knowledge of Reflective Practices, best practices, child development, case management, special education, children's medical and establish conditional needs, family environmental risk factors and community resources for family supports is highly desirable.

• Computer experience, knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and web applications
• Attention to detail with ability to accurately handle large volume of administrative work
• Ability to take appropriate action in an emergency or other atypical situation considering child/family/personal safety, documentation requirements, involving authorities and reporting the incident to supervisor.
• Ability to cope with stress and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to manage high caseload of families, which will include managing family needs, paperwork and service deadlines.
• Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred, though not required.

- Typical work environment situations include lifting, bending, twisting, temperature changes, occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs., utilizing office equipment daily.
- The physical environment requires the employee to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, in the child's natural settings. For example, in the client's home, community settings and childcare centers. Some environmental conditions may include working in various temperatures, pets, and other environment exposures.
- May also include employee and/or NAPPR vehicles and outside locations with dust, wind, temperature changes and precipitation.
- A functional automobile at his/her disposal; a valid, non-suspended NM driver's license and a current automobile liability policy with continuous coverage
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- No substantiation or criminal conviction of child abuse or neglect
- No conviction of DUI or other moving violations in the past 3 years which will prevent insurability under NAPPR's liability coverage
- May require need for flexible schedules, including occasional evening and weekend work.
- Travel within the state across all counties served.
- Use of a company vehicle for business purposes is permitted upon completion and verification of all applicable NAPPR requirements.
