We are working with an established organization seeking a Accounts Payable accountant to join its accounting team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has developed a strong foundation in accounts payable and is looking to expand their responsibilities into general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate understands the accounting behind accounts payable, including debits and credits, general ledger activity, and how transactions impact the financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities across multiple business entities.
• Process vendor invoices, expense reimbursements, and payment runs.
• Ensure accurate expense coding, approvals, and general ledger postings.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash-related accounting activities.
• Prepare AP-related accruals and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with 1099 reporting.
• Resolve vendor discrepancies and monitor outstanding payables.
• Assist with audits, internal controls, and accounting process improvements.

Qualifications:

• 25 years of accounting or accounts payable experience.
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with full-cycle AP and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to month-end close and general accounting activities.
• Experience working with multiple entities or business units is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
