Composite Fabrication Specialist Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking current contract labor teammates to join our 787 production teams in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role offers an exciting opportunity within a dynamic manufacturing assembly environment where team members leverage prior experience and training to complete daily assigned tasks. Responsibilities Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines to protect the team and workplace. Maintain rigorous quality standards; ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations and comply with all regulatory and company requirements. Contribute to a collaborative environment, engaging with teammates and support teams to achieve our shared mission. Use and interpret electronic technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications to complete detailed work instructions. Operate mechanical lifts (ladders, tiger, snorkel lifts) and hand tools such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdrivers, multi meters, continuity testers. Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes. Inspect work quality and check for foreign object debris. Work around energized sources and constantly noisy environments. Perform tasks requiring finger manipulation, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead. Follow all applicable safety and security clearance requirements. Qualifications Serving within a contract labor capacity as a mechanic (DAJX, DCTL, DEJ1, DCTJ). Successful completion of the PHOP program and required Foundational Training Flow. English proficiency; ability to read and interpret technical documentation in English. Experience following detailed work instructions, reading blueprints, drawings, or specifications. Manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field experience, including equivalent education or military experience. Basic proficiency with computer applications (internet, email, Microsoft Office Suite, specialized software). Ability to work variable shifts (first, second, or third) and be onsite 100% of the time. Compliance with export control requirement for U.S. Person. Drug free workplace compliance; subject to drug testing. Physical Demands Stand 6‑8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day. Bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel. Lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull using up to 45 pounds of force; reach overhead up to six hours per day. Work with high‑hazard chemicals using proper protective equipment. Complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications if required. Benefits & Pay Summary pay range LevelB: $54,000–$64,000; LevelC: $61,200–$64,500.
